I've never met Cole Parker, but I like him a lot, not least because he was kind enough to get one of my own pieces placed on AwesomeDude's Best of Nifty and the Net
list, but most of all because of the wonderful writing and great stories that he shares.
Distorted Perspectives is a little different from his others, a bit darker, a bit more social realist. This is definitely espresso to his usual latte.
As the title suggests, the story deals with self perception, a common theme in Cole Parker's writing, but this one goes further, exploring the different ways that two boys have dealt with (or not as the case might be) the almost complete eradication of their feelings of self worth.
The characters as always are warm and sympathetically drawn.
