Six years of Nathan's schooling are followed in six lengthy chapters. Although promised in the last chapter the final year is not covered, but apart from leaving a rather abrupt end, it does not matter.
The story is a quirky mix of traditional British school of the sixties and seventies put in to the modern era with mobile phones and DVD's. The result is that there are some strange anachronism, but the detract little from what is a cheerful and upbeat story about the teenage, the male, need for sex and need for love. Very much "old school".
